Sand Dune & Shingle Network offers this free event 30 Years of Foredune Notching: Insights and Lessons Learned brings together experts from across Europe to reflect on the outcomes, challenges, and learnings from three decades of foredune notching. Designed for researchers, practitioners, and anyone with an interest in coastal conservation, this session offers an opportunity to review what has been achieved and consider practical approaches for the future.

3 -4th April 2025, Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference (Newcastle University)
YCSEC is a conference for early career researchers and practitioners in the field of coastal sciences and engineering. It provides a welcoming and supportive environment for MRes, MSc, and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and recently qualified practitioners to present and discuss research, and to share good practice. It is a great opportunity to interact with a small community of researchers, allowing you to expand your knowledge and network.

1st - 3rd July 2025, UK Coastal Research Conference (The Liner Hotel, Liverpool)
The second UK Coastal Research Conference will be held in Liverpool 1-3 July 2025 and welcomes all those with an interest in UK coastal science, including academia, policy makers, practitioners and industry professionals. Our aim is for the conference to promote conversations around national coastal research strategies and coastal knowledge, connecting researchers with those involved in managing our coasts, and thereby inform sustainable future management of our coast. Abstracts can be submitted here and close 14th February 2025.

16th-18th September 2025: Sand Dune and Shingle Network Conference (Liverpool)
The Sand Dune and Shingle Network is hosting a three-day conference at Liverpool Hope University.
This in-person event will feature presentations, workshops and discussions focused on current research and management of sand dune, machair and shingle habitats. Attendees will also have the opportunity to join a field trip to observe local coastal conservation efforts. The conference is open to researchers, practitioners and those interested in coastal environments.
